My dog jumps/walks through our pet gate. Is there another gate I can buy?

I have two puppies and one is a jumper and the other is small enough to fit through the bars. The gate that I currently have is a pressure mount, metal gate that is approximately 36" high. I think the spacing between the bars are about 3.5". When I leave the house, the dogs get out and chew up stuff around the house! I would LOVE to find a gate that is a little higher with SMALL spacing between the bars. I’ve already tried the "diamond" gates, but unfortunately, my dogs are climbers also. PLEASE HELP!

LARGE dog gate/room barrier ideas…?

I have 3 Great Danes and a small problem. My living room is pretty open – no doors that separate it from the other rooms (2 doorways, about 5′ across). I can’t keep the dogs off the couch while i’m at work, so when i come home, there’s slobber and fur all over! i love my dogs to death, but i’ve just about had it! I’m not going to crate them (i have a "what if there’s a fire" fear). I’d like to keep them out of the room entirely, so i guess what i really need is some sort of "barrier" that will block them from the living room. does anyone have any ideas? I’ve looked at pet stores and they have baby-gate looking things but 1.) they’re not wide enough to go from wall to wall and 2.) they’re way too short (one of the danes can jump a 4 foot fence!). Please give me any and all creative ideas (and no, i’m not getting rid of them! haha).
Although my main goal is to keep them out of the room entirely, the slipcover idea isn’t all that bad…. anyone know where i can get a slipcover for a semi-circle sectional???
Thanks so much ilovemurphie for the links. My problem is that they’re only about 22" high… and my danes are almost 40" at the shoulder (one can jump a 4′ fence…) These would just be a hurdle for them! =)
Pam – thanks for the answer. I was talking HEIGHT, not WIDTH. My dogs are very tall, and while the floor may or may not support the gate, there is a bar that goes under the gate itself, and it would be a pain to high-step that everytime i went in/out of the room.

Why can't I find a pet gate that will fit my 24" doorframe?

I have to find a pet gate to keep my dog out of the room with the cat’s food and litter box. I have searched EVERYWHERE for a gate that will fit a 24" doorframe. All of them start at 29", why is this. Do people only have doorframes that are super wide? My house is only two years old.
Does anyone know where I can find a pet gate that is:
Pressure mounted
walk through (not step over)
has smaller pet door within the gate
fits 24" door frame…
My cat & I will be forever grateful.
(I live in Okc, Ok)
thanks

Need an Extra-Wide Dog Gate?

I’ve been looking online for an extra-wide (63") and preferably taller baby/pet gate for my dog. I want to use this on the front porch and need it to be a tension mounted style..it will be placed between 2 brick columns. Anyway, I’m not having any luck finding what I need. If you have a gate like this..where did you get it?? I’m also open to any other creative options that will keep my Golden Retriever on the porch without his leash on if I don’t find a gate. Thanks.

How tall should my gate be for a pet skunk?

Just wanting to know how tall I should make my gate so he can’t enter a certain room. I was thinking 25" tall would comfortable for me and my wife to step over. Thank you
Pet skunks do not have scent glands so they cannot spray, they are NOT meant to be kept in cages. Their basically I much smarter, trainable, expensive exotic cat

Can anyone tell me where to find a baby/pet gate tall enough to contain a cat?

I need to block my cat from leaving the kitchen area, the only tiled room in the house. The cat urinates constantly on our carpeting which has resulted in costly repair and cleaning. This is a daily thing for her. She has been medically cleared and we have also tried costly behavioral training. Final verdict this is just something she does and we have to live with it. I don’t want to give her away, so this is our last option. If anyone knows a website that I can order a gate from I would appreciate it. The gate has to be tall enough that she can’t jump over it. We have already tried a gate that is 44"

Where should the line be drawn between tradition & appeasing those who feel disenfranchised?

Here we have a copule of issues, such as whether "In God We Trust" should be on money, or the words "Under God" being in our Constitution, and atheists are fighting to have these words removed. Is this fair of them to do this?

Again, another example is the definition of marriage. Traditionally, this has been between a man and woman (save polygamy) and gays and lesbians want that definition expanded. While it’s all well and good that they love each other, but do we then open the gate to all sorts of oddball combinations, such as adults marrying underage children, people marrying their pets? Where does the line get drawn?

Have Political Correctness and the ACLU gone too far?
heidi – I hear you but, the law is open to interpretation, revision, and having law being made by activists judges circumventing the process. If the process worked the way it should, I could live with what you say, but it doesn’t
PS – I didn’t give you the thumbs down.
Cannon, you’ve got it wrong about the money. I hold in my hand a Silver Dollar from 1882 and the words "In God We Trust" are on it. So much for your McCarthy era assertion.
Star, I love your spirit, but again, my concern is that we go too far down a path from which we cannot return. It’s bad enough that we have to try not to "offend" anyone else face litigation. I’m concerned that "regular" laws will also be challenged and that by the time my son is a teen, someone will be able to kidnap him from school, whisk him away, marry him and I, as a partent would have no legal standing to prevent it or undo it. I fear the fabric of our society unravelling should it come to that point

It’s bad enough today that a 14 year old girl in states with no parental notification laws can be molested by 21 year olds, get pregnant, and be whisked off to get an abortion by the 21 year old and his family without any form of communication with her parents. In my mind, that’s kidnapping and murder. But Planned Parenthood supports it and even gets government funding to do it.

See how far we’ve ‘progressed’?

go to www.yeson85.net.. it’s already happened…

WHEN WILL YOU SEE THE REALITY DEAR? YOU CHAMPION THE LAW BUT THE LAW IS NOT PERFECT!!!
