There is a lot to like about Summer Infant Walk-Thru gate, but it also has some (in my eyes) serious drawbacks. Pros – + Installation is relatively painless + Sturdy construction – this is a product I am confident in leaving in place without fear of accidents + Nice appearance – it certainly does not look cheap + Has the ability to adapt to span openings from 28-48″ – this is the SPAN that the entire gate covers “from rail-to-wall” Areas for improvement – The gate opening is just not wide enough – I dread trying to go through the gate with suitcases or anything of width. This is different than the gates span … what I am referring to is the actual fixed opening that you walk through. – The catch mechanism sticks into the opening by about 2″ – It is positioned perfectly to catch onto clothes and pockets. I see things getting caught and ripped in our immediate future. – For some reason our gate does not automatically close. Final Verdict – While I can’t give this gate a hearty recommendation I am still not convinced that it is not the best baby gate on the market. I know that sounds crazy, but I have not found a product that I don’t have major complaints with – so with that 3 Stars

www.pamsdogacademy.com Twix has been to my classroom a few times and came during parent teacher conferences as well. However, he has not been in my class when all those desks are filled with children. So, before I brought him to school with the kids, I wanted to make sure he was really comfortable in the classroom. Prior to doing tricks he hung out with me as I did grades. I have an area in the back that is blocked off with gates, blankets over the gates to make the dogs feel safe, a dog bed, water dish, and a crate. This way when they come to school with me, they can choose to be out with the students or in their safe zone away from kids. It is always their choice and usually they choose to be out with the kids. It is really sweet to watch! Kids and dogs just hanging out together and not stressing each other out. My students have been taught about calming signals and dog body language and are observing Isabelle and Twix (as well as I am!!!!) for any anxiety! Have a wonderful day!
